Searching for God?

A wise man once said, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you are going.” What will a man profit if he gains the whole world and yet lose his own soul? Nothing. Did you know that the lives of 155,000 people end permanently every day? Will you be next? Have you been focusing on good works to make you ready for death? Hopefully not, because they will die with you; however, the nature in your heart will continue on with your spirit. If you have sinned even once, your heart is not ready to see God; His standard is perfection. God forbid that you die in your sin! And it could be at any time. When you die, God will judge you as a righteous Judge, and your sin demands that there be judgement. Would it be right to let a criminal off the hook for nothing, even after he has committed treason? Absolutely not. And in the same way, when we have directly rebelled against God, why wouldn’t we deserve to be punished? Yes, the punishment means Hell, not because God is cruel, but because our sin is so great. But God’s grace is greater than any sin ever committed; that means He will give grace to you, even in your extreme case of sin. That is the God Christians serve! 1 John 4:9 “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” The punishment for all the billions of sins were laid fully on Christ. And now, the debt of sin has been paid. All God requires is that we take on God’s attitude towards sin (repent, a change of mind), and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. You can rest on the finished work of the cross for salvation; its that simple.
